Coral Monitoring

In this week, you will learn and practice how to monitor coral reef ecosystems.
There are 3 specializations that you must master, Coral Monitoring, Fish Monitoring, and Megabenthos Monitoring. The data collected will be included in a portal that can be accessed by the government, so that it can be used as a reference for consideration of conservation areas.

Coral Restoration

In this week, you will learn how to do site selection, method choice (reef stars, trees, etc.) Hands-on training in installing restoration structures on the seabed, fragment attachment. Monitoring & Evaluation, key metric assessment (survival rate, growth, biodiversity), data analysis, and impact reporting.

Marine Mega Fauna

In this week, you will learn how to identified marine turtle and shark, how to do data collection for them, and how to analyze Photo ID.

Shark Week

This week, your focus will shift to the study of elasmobranch ecology, initiating with protocols for non-invasive data collection and species identification. Your research will involve a transect survey across the marine ecosystems of Gili Trawangan, Gili Petelu, and Teluk Saleh to gather population data on local shark species.
